Our son (11) this morning, utmost excited:
‘Imagine, today starts the test week in school!!! For a whole week we will write 2 tests every day!! Finally!!! And we start with 2 maths tests today!! It’s a beautiful day!!!’
Our daughter (15), looking at her brother like NASA scientists study a UFO:
‘OK, you’ve got me here: about this nothing funny comes into my mind..’
Our son (10) in an utmost sentimental tone):
‘Papa, you are my 2nd best papa in the world!!!!’
My husband (in his sober-minded self):
‘My dearest son, under no circumstances would I intend to interrupt you…but who is the 1st one?’
Walter (after a short pause):
‘I mean the 1st one.
Sorry, little mistake in my calculations.’
The teachers of our children really do their best to wrap even worse news into a more positive context in each school report.
Excerpt from my daughter’s last school report in primarily school:
‘Noëmi, Theatre and Drama lesson is really your strength!
..All you need to do is pay attention when it finishes and when the maths lesson starts..’
