Dolce vita

Just arrived at Lake Como.

Children learn quickly: ours have already adapted their style to speaking loud, using intensive hand gestures when expressing themselves with perfect Italian accent – in Dutch.

The waiter in the restaurant has already asked where we come from.

The reply in chorus:

Me with my husband: ‘Hungary.’

Children: ‘Belgium.’

Waiter: ‘Ok. Until you agree on it, I will bring something to drink..’

Saluti ragazzi!

______________

– English follows –

Megérkeztünk a Comói-tóhoz.

A gyerekek hamar ráéreznek: percek óta hangosan, széles taglejtésekkel beszélnek olasz akcentussal – hollandul.

A kávézóban a pincér meg is kérdezi, hova valósiak vagyunk.

A válasz kórusban:

Házastársam és én: “Magyarország.”

Gyerekek: “Belgium.”

Pincér: “Addig is, míg eldöntik, hoznék valamit inni.

Na akkor saluti ragazzi.
